A Leader Who Serves

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." -Mark 10:45 (ESV)

Servant leadership is a model of leading that has been practiced for centuries but its importance and relevance has become evident in our modern times. The concept of servant leadership comes from Jesus' famous words in Mark 10:45. Jesus, the perfect example of leadership and selfless love, shows us that as leaders we should focus on serving others. Serving others is an imperative part of being a leader.

As Christian men, we should lead with humility and empathy, understanding that our role is to serve those around us. This often means putting others before ourselves, setting a good example for others, and maintaining an attitude of service in all aspects of our lives.

Servant leadership is not an easy task, as it requires a great deal of patience, sacrifice and humility. However, when we strive to lead with selflessness and compassion, we can experience true joy in our lives and make a difference in the lives of others. We can learn from Jesus' example, by letting our service be an expression of God's love that reaches out to those around us.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your perfect example. Help us to emulate Your selfless love through our daily actions and attitudes. May our actions reflect the servant leadership that You have modeled for us. In Your Name, Amen.
