“When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:10-11
Often, verse 11 of Jeremiah gives people a sense of excitement about their future because they have assurance of God’s plan for good in their life. But how often do we forget verse 10…They will be captive for 70 years. God gives them hope for a bright future, but his will does not change circumstances overnight.
His plan may include a process. Sometimes God even allows the process to take longer than we might like. Trust today that God does have a great plan and a will for you. Even though it doesn’t seem like much is happening, God is always working.
God, help me to trust your will for my life and for my family as well. Give me the ability to be content with the process. Amen.
